Our first annual Juneteenth Day was a success thanks to the many sponsors and vendors such as; Polk County Sheriff office, Polk County Juvenile Justice and Polk County Crime Prevention. We had guest speakers, Apostle Pastor Paul which travels the world to reach out and teach to our nations. Also in appearance was local Motivational Speakers Peggy Mckeever, which spoke about young girls and self-esteem and Herbert Braggs which touched on the absenteeism of our fathers in our boys lives.

Juneteenth was an event not only to commemorate and celebrate the freedom from slavery, but it was also a day of unity.
We were pleased to have Mayor Sam Pennant of Dundee speak on the history of Juneteenth Day. As well as the Vice Mayor of Dundee in attendance.

To celebrate this historical day we had traditional barbecue ribs, pull pork, jerk chicken spaghetti, baked beans and yellow rice. We also had fried chicken and French fries and to top off this we had strawberry pop which is a main beverage drunk at these events. We had bounce house for the children, face painting, live DJ and much more.

We look forward to our Second Annual Juneteenth event to be held on June 20, 2015 in Poinciana Florida. If interested in becoming a vendor please contact Tracy Rey 321-205-5697 or loudinc12@gmail.com
